Movie Review: Kalkandu is the kind of story that Tamil cinema had beaten to death in the 90s. We have a carefree young man, his strict father who doesn't hold him as high as his brother, who is a successful doctor and a respectful son. The heroine initially dislikes him and uses him only for her personal gains but later realizes that she is actually in love with the guy. But before she can tell him that, the parents arrange a match with another guy, who, unsurprisingly, is the brother of the hero. The hero decides to be the good son for once and tries to avoid her and things are taken as far as the wedding day when the duo is brought together by the very person who had come in between their love — the brother. All that is missing in this Hum Aapke Hain Koun...!-ish is a pet dog that acts as the go-between for the lovers. Here, instead, we have three friends from his side and one from hers.
