| |
Maintenance and surveillance of the layer 2 HSI (High Speed Internet) and FIOS networks for Frontier Communications.
-Troubleshoot and restore all network issues related to FIOS (Video, Data, Phone) and DSLAM internet delivery. Work on a daily basis with field techs on layer 1-3 issues for network restoral. Skills and protocols used Ethernet Fast Ethernet, Gigabit and 10 Gigabit. On these platforms Lucent CBX500/B-STDX 9000, Ciena DN7100 ATM switches; Juniper ERX 1440/E320, and Cisco routers 3400, 3550, 3750, 7600.
- Must be able to communicate effectively both in verbal and written communication which includes handling customer escalations and sensitive situations
Detailed knowledge of Network protocols including Ethernet, ARP, CDP, Frame Relay, PPP, STP, VTP, ATM, MPLS, X.25, ICMP, EGP, IPv4, IPv6, IP Sec, IPX, BGP, OSPF, RIP, GDP, TCP, IP, UDP, SMB, DNS, DHCP, FTP, HTTP, IMAP, IRC, LDAP, NNTP, NTP, POP3, RADIUS, RTP, SSH, SIP, SMTP, SNMP, Telnet, TFTP (In order from Layer 1 to Layer 7)
CCNA highly preferred
24 x 7 NOC, shift work is a MUST therefore; ALL candidates must be open to working all shifts (A, B, C). Business casual/casual dress (Slacks, denim jeans, button down AND polo style shirts).
Must be able to work flexible hours, Must be able to work in a team environment or independently, great communication skills, both oral and written, good interpersonal skills, self starter. Someone who takes the initiative must be able to handle multiple tasks at one time.
