| The deliberations come a day after the Punjab government gave the go-ahead for his arrest.
The Dera chief was earlier scheduled to visit Uttar Pradesh, but that visit has now been cancelled.
''I do not know what the reasons are. I just got a call at about 11:00 pm (IST) last night, saying the religious programme has to be cancelled,'' said Harnek Singh, Dera Administrator, Baghpat.
Violent protests
Baba Gurmeet Singh Ram Rahim was the target of angry protests by Sikhs last month after he appeared in an ad dressed like the 10th Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh.
This had sparked off violence in some parts of Punjab as the Sikhs, outraged with the ad, resorted to violence.
Last week, a Bathinda court had issued a conditional arrest warrant against the Baba, which this was subject to a government sanction.
Lengthy process
But the process of arresting the chief may take some time. The Bathinda police are still waiting for the written orders to come from Chandigarh.
These documents will then have to be given to court. At the earliest, the court can be approached on Friday, which will then scrutinise the documents.
The deadline for arresting the Dera's chief ends on Saturday. If the Punjab government is still interested in arresting him, then they have to ask for the deadline to be extended.
And finally, the state government has to seek cooperation of the Haryana police.
